Notification Bell — Privacy Policy

Notification Bell ("the app") is a Shopify app that lets merchants show scheduled notifications to visitors on their storefront. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

Data we collect from merchants

When you install the app, we store your shop's myshopify.com domain and the access token Shopify issues to the app, which is required for the app to function. We store the notification content you create (titles, messages, images you upload, links, schedules, and targeting rules). Images you upload are stored in your own shop's Shopify Files.

Data we collect from storefront visitors

The app does not collect, store, or process any personal information about storefront visitors. Analytics are anonymous counters only: how many times the notification panel was opened, and how many impressions and clicks each notification received. No IP addresses, cookies, identifiers, or browsing histories are recorded by the app. The widget stores a small amount of data in the visitor's own browser (which notifications they have seen, and their landing page for targeting); this never leaves their device.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties. Data is processed on our hosting providers (Render and Neon, both with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest) solely to operate the app.

Data retention and deletion

If you uninstall the app, Shopify notifies us and we delete the shop's access credentials. Within 48 hours of uninstalling, Shopify sends a deletion request and we permanently erase all remaining data for the shop, including notifications and analytics. You can also request deletion at any time using the contact below.

GDPR

The app implements Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks. Because the app stores no personal data about your customers, customer data requests and erasure requests are acknowledged automatically with nothing to disclose or delete.
